How Jandor Played Secret Agent For APC While In PDP

The Lagos chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticized Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, for rejoining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jandor, who was the PDP’s governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, announced his return to the APC during a press conference on Monday.

Earlier, on March 3, 2025, he resigned from the PDP, citing issues such as lack of discipline and betrayal within the party.

Reacting to his defection, the Deputy Chairman of Lagos PDP, Tai Benedict, accused Jandor of being an APC agent sent to disrupt the party.

Benedict claimed that from the moment Jandor joined the PDP, he sowed division among party members and manipulated his way into securing the governorship ticket.

He also criticised Jandor’s choice of running mate, actress Funke Akindele, arguing that it was based on social media popularity rather than political strategy.

Despite acknowledging that losing party members is generally not a good thing, Benedict stated that Jandor’s departure was actually a relief for the PDP.

Meanwhile, the APC has welcomed Jandor back, describing him as a “vibrant young man” who has simply returned to his political roots.

APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, expressed confidence that Jandor would contribute positively to the party’s success.

He dismissed the PDP’s claims that Jandor was planted by the APC, arguing that the PDP is simply making excuses for its internal failures.

Oladejo also predicted that more politicians would leave the PDP for the APC as the next election approaches.
