The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), has urged the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibibia Worika, to focus on restoring law, order, and public trust in the state.
Ibas made this statement after Worika’s swearing-in ceremony in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
During the event, Ibas stated that every policy and decision must align with his administration’s goal of stabilizing the state and reinstating democratic institutions.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in Worika’s abilities, speaking on his intelligence, resilience, and dedication.
Ibas reminded the new SSG that there was no time to settle in, urging him to collaborate with civil servants, who play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the government.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and service, calling on permanent secretaries and other officials to support Worika in achieving their shared objectives.
