Lagos Chairman Is Dead


The Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State is in mourning following the passing of its chairman, Mrs. Bolatito Shobowale.

The sad news was confirmed on Friday by the acting chairman, Ladi Oluwaloni, who recently took over leadership due to Shobowale’s prolonged illness.

She had been battling an undisclosed ailment for an extended period before she passed away.

Oluwaloni, who was sworn in just days ago by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, expressed deep sorrow, describing Shobowale as more than just a leader.

“She was a mother, a mentor, and a pillar of strength to many. Her dedication to grassroots development and governance will never be forgotten,” he said.

During her tenure, Shobowale played a key role in driving infrastructural improvements, enhancing healthcare, and supporting community empowerment initiatives.

Her efforts significantly shaped the growth of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.

Residents and colleagues have expressed their grief, remembering her commitment and accessibility.

In his tribute, Oluwaloni assured that her legacy of selfless service and good governance would continue to inspire future generations.

“As we bid farewell to this remarkable leader, we take comfort in knowing that her impact will live on. May the Almighty grant her eternal rest and give us the strength to uphold the values she stood for,” he added.
