The trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been adjourned to May 2, 2025.
This decision was made during a court session on April 29, 2025, where the prosecution presented key evidence related to the case.
The court reviewed an extra-judicial statement made by Kanu in 2015, shortly after his arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The statement was introduced as evidence by a DSS operative, who served as the first witness in the case.
The identity of the witness was kept confidential, and he testified behind a screen.
According to the witness, he was in charge of the operation that led to Kanu’s arrest on October 14, 2015, at the Golden Tulip Hotel near Lagos International Airport.
Kanu was reportedly apprehended upon his return from the United Kingdom.
The court was also shown video footage of Kanu’s interrogation following his arrest.
Additionally, four suitcases containing various items were presented as evidence.
These items were seized from Kanu’s hotel room and included personal belongings and equipment he allegedly used for his Radio Biafra broadcasts.
Below are the exhibits FG presented to the Court.
