English Football club Manchester United and decorated footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, have parted ways immediately following a polarizing interview by the player.
Ronaldo had granted an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, wherein he called out the management of the club and the coach Ten Haag.
Manchester United football club had responded to the interview, stating that they would take action after due investigation.
The club and player have now resolved to terminate the contract so Cristiano can find his way to other places.
The club said in a statement:
Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo has also released one:
Following talks with Manchester United, we’ve mutually agreed to end our contract.
I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change.
It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge.
