A tragic accident has reportedly occurred on Sunday morning along the Malumfashi-Kafur Road in Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of nine passengers.
The accident involved a single Hummer bus, which crashed due to speeding and loss of control, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The Katsina State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Aliyu Ma’aji, confirmed that nine people died instantly, while 11 others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Ma’aji urged motorists to drive carefully, especially during festive periods when road traffic is heavier.
He warned against speeding, overloading, and reckless driving, noting that despite improved road infrastructure in the state, such behaviors continue to cause fatal accidents.
