An explosion at an MRS filling station near Yola International Airport in Adamawa State has caused a major fire, with several people feared dead.
The explosion happened on Tuesday evening while a fuel tanker was unloading petrol at the station.
The fire spread quickly, affecting nearby areas and making it difficult for people to move in and out of the state capital.
Firefighters from the Adamawa State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and the American University of Nigeria (AUN) are working to control the fire.
However, eyewitnesses report that many vehicles have already been burned.
A businessman near the scene described hearing a loud bang before the fire broke out. Another witness said the damage to property is severe.
Authorities have not yet provided an official statement on the incident.
