NLC protest rocks Lagos, Abuja

Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress have taken to the streets in Lagos State and Abuja, expressing dissatisfaction with the current economic challenges.

The protest stems from the government’s alleged failure to implement agreements made on October 2, 2023, following the fuel subsidy removal.

Despite a 14-day ultimatum, last night’s meeting between the federal government and NLC concluded without resolution.

This prompted the union to continue with the planned protest.

NLC members, gathered under the Ikeja underbridge, calling on the government to address their concerns.

There was also massive turnout in parts of Abuja.

The protest will continue tomorrow.

Recall that the NLC threatened a total shutdown if the police interferes with or harm the protesters.
