Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has praised Northern Traditional Rulers for their bold move in tackling the ongoing security problems in the region and across Nigeria.
Responding to their “Enough is Enough” declaration about the worsening security situation, Obi said their bravery is exactly what is needed to find lasting solutions.
In a post on X, he expressed deep gratitude to the royal fathers for raising their voices at such a critical time.
He agreed with their stance, saying it’s time the country put an end to the continued killings and unrest.
Obi added that the joint statement from the traditional rulers shows how urgent it is for strong and immediate action to protect lives and bring back peace.
He also called on leaders at all levels to work hand in hand with these royal fathers, who are closely connected to the people at the grassroots.
He praised the traditional rulers’ leadership and concern for their communities, especially their willingness to guide regional governors.
He concluded by saying that the traditional rulers’ stand should inspire everyone, regardless of political beliefs, to come together and address the root causes of Nigeria’s problems.
According to him, unity and cooperation are key to building a safer and more inclusive nation for all.
