Supporters of the Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi, have booed the Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for representing his principal, Atiku Abubakar at a presidential town hall event.
The event which ought to have seen the presidential candidates from PDP, LP, NNPP, and PRP instead saw the VP candidate from the PDP.
This caused the Peter Obi supporters to put up a ruckus and demand that Okowa step down as he’s not a presidential candidate.
In a video seen online by Dockaysworld, Senator Dino Melaye could be heard telling the obidients to go home and watch the event from their TVs as they were disrupting the proceedings.
A member of the PDP, Ilemona revealed on Twitter, the reason for the presidential candidate’s absence.
He tweeted:
It is public knowledge that he has been outside the country & was scheduled to return after the programme had commenced. He literally just landed. He asked the organizers if his running mate could represent him. They agreed. If they had said no, Okowa won’t have been here.
