Plane carrying 53 passengers crash lands

A Max Air aircraft with 53 passengers on board crash-landed at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday night after suffering a tyre burst.

The plane, registered as 5N-MBD, had taken off from Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos and touched down in Kano at 10:57 p.m.

Sources say the aircraft lost its nose landing gear tyre upon landing, leading to the incident.

Despite the rough landing, all passengers were safely evacuated without injuries.

During that flight, the aircraft suffered another technical issues forcing an emergency landing at the Maiduguri International Airport.
