The Nigerian police force is set to make an example of some police officers attached to the wife of PDP Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the female orderly of former Vice President’s wife, Titi, will be sanctioned for carrying her bag at an event.
A Twitter user had shared a photo of the orderly holding Mrs Atiku’s bag at an event on Wednesday, October 5, with the caption;
”When a private citizen can turn our uniform force member into her maid, why won’t the police forget their primary duty and only dance to the tune of the elites? @BenHundeyin is this how it’s supposed to be?”
Responding, Adejobi wrote;
”This is not acceptable. We have commenced necessary action on this. We will fish her out and get across to the principal. The AIG Special Protection Unit has been contacted to assist us get the woman police. Gradually, we will sanitise the system.
My brother, this is bad for an orderly to carry bag for her madam, more so that the madam is not a service police officer. How does she defend her if there any attackon her? . ire o.
Too bad. And very soon we will sensor those who enjoy police specialised services, the project has commenced, we shall get there, its a matter of time. At least, we have started something, somewhere. Ire o. To us in the police its an absurdity and should not be allowed to continue. To you, it might not be serious but to us, its serious for many reasons some of which are known to u as well. We don’t need any sentiment if at all we are serious about reform.”
