Police Deploy Three DIGs, Restrict Vehicle Movements for Elections in Imo, Kogi, Bayelsa

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has positioned three Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to monitor security arrangements for Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this at a Media briefing on Tuesday in Abuja.

Adejobi said the DIGs are Frank Mba deployed to Imo, including Habu Sani and Daniel Sokari-Pedro deployed to Kogi and Bayelsa states respectively.

He also said the deployment of the Senior Police Officers was in line with the commitment of the force to establish neutrality and ensure proper supervision of personnel, deployed for the election.

He, however, added that the IGP had ordered a restriction of vehicle movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation, from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on November 11 in each state to promote a safe environment and maintain public order during the election.
