Police men in trouble for taking ‘igbo’, drinking beer on duty [video]

Some Nigerian policemen have landed in trouble after they were caught smoking and drinking in uniform while on duty.

A Twitter user had drawn the attention of the police public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Moye, to a footage of a policeman taking Indian hemp and another had of some cops drinking alcohol.

The user wrote:

Hello Boss man @Princemoye1
Is it allowed to place a destructive police officer under citizen arrest wen he/she is a danger to the society???
Eg: when the officer is drunk and holding a gun… When the officer is breaking the law…
When the officer is caught extorting

The Force PRO expressed his disappointment as he called on the state PRO to fish out the men of the Nigerian Police to face discipline.

He wrote:

I think this is Kwara. PPRO kwara to fish out this policeman and send him to my office at the FHQ immediately. Can u see this, too? Its a personal thing. I have said it severally that its not systemic. How can a policeman on uniform, on duty, be taking “igbo”. Heee

He also said the officers who were drinking were wrong and would face discipline.
