Katsina police order restriction of movement in state


The Katsina State Police Command have announced a restriction on movement across the state ahead of the local government election on Saturday.

The restriction will be in place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. to maintain order and ensure the security of voters.

According to the police, the measure will help create a safe environment for residents to participate in the election without disruptions.

Security personnel will be stationed across the state to enforce the directive and protect voters and election officials.

Meanwhile, the Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission has begun distributing sensitive election materials to all 34 local government areas.

The commission is prioritizing far-reaching locations to prevent delays and ensure timely delivery.

Over 20,000 ad-hoc staff have been trained to manage the election process across polling units.

Officials have assured voters that all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth and orderly election.

Dedicated phone lines will also be available for complaints on election day.
