Police Rescue Some Abducted students of Kogi Varsity


Security agents and vigilant men have reportedly rescued the students of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State, who were kidnapped by unknown gunmen last Thursday.

The Kogi State Police Command disclosed that 14 of the abducted students of the University have been rescued.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kingsley Fanwo, also made this known via a press release on Sunday which recalled the Governor’s visit and his promise of safe return for the children.

Recall the students were taken while on campus, preparing for their upcoming first-semester exams scheduled for Monday.

Fanwo praised the gallantry of the security agents involved in the rescue operation, noting that the unknown gunmen were forced to retreat due to the superior force applied by the rescuers.

According to The Punch, the state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya said, “So far, 14 of them have been rescued, Our men are in the bush trying to find the rest.”
