Popular Ugandan LGBTQ activist stabbed on his way to work (Video)

A prominent LGBTQ advocate in Uganda, Steven Kabuye has been stabbed by unknown assailants, Dockaysworld has learnt.

25-year-old popular Ugandan LGBTQ advocate, Steven Kabuye has been stabbed by unidentified assailants.

The police confirmed that the attack took place on the outskirts of Kampala, the country’s capital.

According to Kabuye, he has been receiving death threats ever since the country signed the antigay bill into law.

The assailants were aiming to stab his neck but Kabuye managed to shield himself and ended up being stabbed in the arms.

Kabuye who works with Colored Voices Media Foundation was taken to the clinic by residents who found him in the pool of his own blood.

Efforts are being made to ensure Kabuye’s recovery and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act, passed last year, introduced severe penalties for same-sex relations.

Critics argue that such laws endanger LGBTQ lives and promote hatred.

This legislation drew international condemnation and legal challenges, with Uganda’s government defending it against Western criticism, citing pressure to accept homosexuality.
