The Police Service Commission has announced the appointment of new commissioners of police for the commands in Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom states.
These appointments follow the recent promotion of senior officers within the force, which led to vacancies in these states.
The newly assigned commissioners are Isah Danladi Nda for Abia, Olarewaju Ishola Olawale for Lagos, Anthonia Adaku Uche Anya for Ebonyi, and Miller Gajere Dantawaye for Akwa Ibom.
The PSC also appointed CP Peter Opara as the new Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
These officers will replace their predecessors, who have moved on to other roles or responsibilities.
DIG Hashimu Argungu, the Commission’s Chairman, emphasized that the appointees are expected to bring significant improvements to security in their respective areas.
He urged them to act swiftly and effectively in their new roles, ensuring the development of a competent and efficient police force.
The Commission plans to monitor their progress closely to ensure they meet the expected standards.
The Commission has already communicated the approval of these postings to the Inspector General of Police for immediate implementation.
