Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has been appointed a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election.
This announcement was contained in a statement released by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, on Thursday.
The governorship election is set for November 16, and Akpabio will join a 305-member council chaired by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Alongside Sanwo-Olu, who will lead the council with his experience in Lagos, former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been appointed as secretary.
Other notable figures supporting the campaign include Governors Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, Dapo Abiodun, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
The National Working Committee, led by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has endorsed the formation of this council, which will be inaugurated on October 28 at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State.
Other key members include former officials such as Chief Olusola Oke, Senator Stella Oduah, Senator Uche Ekwunife, and General Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd), who will play vital roles in various campaign operations.
