Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reportedly spoken on rumors that she received ₦500 million from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In a statement on Wednesday, the senator representing Kogi Central described the claims as false and an attempt to mislead the public and tarnish her reputation.
She made it clear that no such transaction ever took place.
“I have never received ₦500 million or any amount from Senator Akpabio. This is a deliberate lie aimed at creating unnecessary controversy,” she said.
Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed concern over the spread of fake news and called on the public to verify information before sharing it. She also challenged those spreading the rumor to present evidence to support their claims.
The senator urged security agencies to investigate the source of the false information and take action against those responsible. She reaffirmed her commitment to serving her constituents with transparency and integrity, stating that she would not be distracted by baseless accusations.
“Defamation and character assassination should have no place in our society. I believe the truth will always prevail,” she concluded.
