The statement, issued by the Director of Communications, described the claims as “entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation.”
The public clarification also dismissed reports that Senator Nwoko made comments regarding popular singer Tuface Idibia and polygamy.
The statement labelled these allegations as “completely untrue.”
The Director of Communications noted that the senator remains a public figure, and given that his wife is an actress, it is not uncommon for bloggers to fabricate stories for attention.
However, the office stressed that Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focusing on his political responsibilities, leaving him with no time for distractions.
The senator’s office further cautioned media practitioners against spreading fake news, urging the public to rely only on verified information from official sources.
