Senators Quarrel over Seats in Renovated Chamber [video]

There was mild tension in the Senate on Tuesday when three senators engaged in a heated debate about their seating arrangements, following resumption in the refurbished chambers.

Danjuma Goje from Gombe Central and Sahabi Yau from Zamfara North expressed dissatisfaction with their assigned seats and raised their concerns with Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Majority Leader.

Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West, chairs the Senate Services Committee, which is responsible for seating arrangements.

According to the Senate’s rules, senators are supposed to sit according to their rank. The argument between the senators started during Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s welcome address.
