Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, joined labour demonstrators in the state on Tuesday.
The governor expressed concern over the worsening economic conditions in the country.
He highlighted the pervasive levels of hardship and poverty while urging collective efforts to address the challenges and expressing optimism for positive change.
“There is hunger and hardship in the land. We must do something about it, he said.
Meanwhile widespread protests against hardship and hunger is ongoing across the country.
Today marks the first day of the demonstration led by the NLC, and it will extend into tomorrow.
Despite the federal government’s attempt to intervene through a meeting last night, the deliberations reached an impasse, and the protest proceeded.
