Singer Mohbad’s Autopsy Results Set for Release in 3 Weeks

Late singer Mohbad’s autopsy is set to be released in 3-4 weeks time.


The Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre Dr Richard Somiari, has revealed that the autopsy of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad will be released in about 3 weeks. 

The director made this known while testifying at a coroner’s inquest set up to get to the bottom of the singer’s death on Wednesday. 

The inquest has been held at Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court since it began on October 13, 2023.

Somiari who was cross examined by the defense counsel shared the timeline for the autopsy to be ready before the court.

“We expected to get the first set of autopsy results in three to four weeks and re-confirm to authenticate the cause of the death.

“We searched for multiple possibilities, to check if poison was involved in the death of Mohbad since no actual cause was mentioned.”

“We have a place where items are stored for safety and security of results. There is a procedure for monitoring samples moved abroad,” he said.

Recall, Mohbad passed away in September 2023 under peculiar circumstances, prompting questions and narratives.
