Controversial Nigerian artist Speed Darlington has alleged that he narrowly escaped a gunshot attack while leaving a club in Victoria Island, Lagos, in the early hours of January 27.
The singer shared a video on social media showing bullet dents on his car, claiming the incident could be an assassination attempt linked to his ongoing feud with fellow musician Burna Boy.
According to Speed Darlington, he and his driver heard gunshots as they exited the venue, leading him to believe someone was targeting him.
In the video, he expressed shock, stating, “This must mean I’m speaking the truth,” and hinted that the attack might be a response to his recent public statements. The caption accompanying the post read, “Bro, is this necessary? You tried to take my life… really?”
The incident has sparked a wave of reactions online, with fans expressing concern for Speed Darlington’s safety and speculating about the motive behind the alleged attack.
While his claims remain unverified, the situation has intensified discussions about the tensions between him and Burna Boy.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the authorities regarding the incident, and Speed Darlington has not provided further details.
