  • The court revealed this in a notice on Thursday

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has scheduled Monday, October 23, 2023, as the date for the hearing of an appeal filed by PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku’s appeal seeks to challenge the verdict of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, which affirmed Bola Tinubu‘s victory as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 presidential election.

Atiku Abubakar is urging the Supreme Court to bypass technicalities and allow him to submit fresh and additional evidence to substantiate his claim that Bola Tinubu presented a forged document to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in his bid to contest the presidential election.

In his argument, Atiku underscored the seriousness of a presidential candidate submitting forged documents, emphasizing that this is a grave constitutional matter that should not be overlooked.
