The Lagos State CP Special Squad has arrested two men linked to the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
The suspects, 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were caught early Friday, January 24, 2025, while trying to escape Lagos State.
During questioning, they admitted to being part of a four-man gang behind the abduction.
Police revealed that the other two gang members were killed in a previous operation.
Officers recovered ₦2,250,000, believed to be part of the ransom paid, as well as two homemade guns and 11 live cartridges.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised the officers for their bravery and urged them to keep up their efforts to fight crime.
In a statement, Police spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said,
“The Nigeria Police Force is fully committed to ensuring public safety and reducing crime to its lowest level. This operation shows our dedication to protecting Nigerians and maintaining peace.”
