Popular Nigerian pop musician Michael Adebayo Olayinka aka Ruger has given some details about happenings in his former Label Jonzing World owned by D Prince.
Ruger had taken to his Twitter page to share his experience as he said that Jonzing World had become too comfortable with the money he was making for them.
According to the eye-patched singer, the label had gone on to use the funds he was generating to fund a new artiste which he complained about.
While breaking down the happenings, Ruger said that he might get stabbed if he revealed all that happened.
He however expressed happiness about the future.
He wrote:
As much as l’m very appreciative of the fact that Jonzing world introduced me to the world, I just couldn’t continue with them because they got too comfortable with the money they were making from me and couldn’t push me further as I wanted to be pushed. Was supposed to renegotiate the contract but I couldn’t imagine 5 years more without action
I complained, I got angry, some people tell me say no be so dem Dey do things. I still go back HQ go collect fake hugs and handshakes.
Nothing still change. I wan mad
Many things to to talk but dem fit go wait for me for ikoyi link bridge stab me wotowoto
Dey use my money Dey fund new artist, leaving me in the dark, not being transparent. I just laugh el how e be now
Meanwhile, Music journalist Joey Akan has weighed in on the matter. He tweeted:
I can understand Ruger leaving Jonzing for more push. Every artist wants the next level, and dreams are valid.
What I can’t understand is his anger at the label using their profit from his art to create and power new artists.
Na another person money they use fund Ruger to blow.
