Tinubu approves new federal universities

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday signed two bills to establish the Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji, Osun State and the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State.

These universities will focus on agricultural studies, science, and technology, aiming to meet educational needs and foster research and innovation.

The President stated that the universities will help train professionals in these fields and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth.

This decision adds to other recent educational expansions, including the establishment of a federal university in Rivers State and the takeover of a private university in Southern Kaduna.
