According to a statement from presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, these appointments were necessary due to the departure of previous representatives.

The NCDMB Governing Council, established under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010, includes representatives from key institutions such as the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), PETAN, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), NCCF, and NAICOM.

President Tinubu urged the new members to use their expertise and dedication to further strengthen local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
