President Bola Tinubu has broken silence on his Democracy Day’s fall at Eagles Square in Abuja.
A viral video showed the moment Tinubu fell while boarding the presidential parade vehicle.
The President approached the vehicle shortly after he arrived at the venue of the programme, but lost his footing momentarily as he was about to step into the vehicle.
However, despite the slip, the President quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings with the help of his security aides
Recounting the incident, Tinubu laughed about it, attributing it to his Yoruba heritage.
He jokingly referred to his stumble as a display of swagger for the day, emphasizing his cultural roots by mentioning the traditional Yoruba act of ‘dobale’.
“Early this morning, I had a swagger and it’s on the social media. They were confused about whether I was doing Buga or doing babariga, But, It is a day to celebrate democracy while doing “Idobale” for the day.”, the president said during the state Banquet Dinner at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday night.
