Tinubu signs bill establishing new federal university

President Bola Tinubu has officially signed into law a bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, Rivers State.

This development comes just weeks after President Tinubu met with Ogoni leaders at the State House in Abuja.

During the meeting, held on January 21, 2025, the President emphasized the importance of unity and reconciliation, urging the Ogoni people to set aside historical grievances and work collaboratively towards peace, development, and environmental restoration.

He stated, “We cannot in any way rewrite history, but we can correct some anomalies of the past going forward. We cannot heal the wounds if we continue to be angry.”
