Tinubu suspends NSIPA boss, orders replacement

Halima Shehu, CEO of National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) has been suspended by President Bola Tinubu

  • President Tinubu has suspended NSIPA CEO, Halima Shehu
  • He has also ordered her replacement
  • Shehu was appointed by the president in October 2023

President Bola Tinubu has suspended the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Halima Shehu.

Her suspension which is with immediate effect is coming just three months after her appointment by the President.

He has also ordered her replacement.

Halima served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, where she used her banking and career expertise to see to the digitalisation of the programme.

In 2011, she was appointed as a Senior Special Assistant to a former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema.

She also worked as a member of the state’s Internal Revenue Board.

In 2016, she was appointed by the Economic Community of West African Countries, where she temporarily worked as a presidential election observer in Cape Verde.
