The Save Public Education Campaign, a pro-education group, is vehemently urging immediate action for the rescue of numerous pupils and teachers abducted in a tragic incident on Thursday in Kaduna.
In a statement signed by its Convener, Comrade Vivian Bello on Friday said it will hold the Nigerian government and the Kaduna State government expressly responsible if anything happens to the abducted schoolchildren.
The dreadful event unfolded as terrorists brazenly stormed LGEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), located in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Expressing deep concern over the escalating incidents of kidnapping, particularly in Kaduna and Borno states, President Bola Tinubu has unequivocally condemned the heinous acts.
The victims, comprising very vulnerable individuals such as internally displaced persons in Borno State and students in Kaduna State, have become the focal point of President Tinubu’s attention.
In response to these distressing events, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, issued a statement on Friday.
The President has directed security and intelligence agencies to mobilize swiftly, ensuring the immediate rescue of the kidnapped pupils and teachers.
Emphasizing a commitment to justice, President Tinubu stated, “I have received a briefing from security chiefs on the two incidents, and I am confident that the victims will be rescued.”Moreover, the President made it clear that nothing less than a decisive administration of justice is acceptable to him and the anxious family members awaiting the return of their abducted loved ones.
He underscores the gravity of the situation, pledging to ensure that justice is meted out against those responsible for these abominable acts.
