Trump Cuts U.S. Funding to South Africa

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on February 2 that he is stopping all future financial aid to South Africa.

He accused the country of taking land from certain groups and violating human rights.

Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed that South Africa is “confiscating land and treating certain classes of people very badly.”

He said the U.S. would not tolerate such actions and would cut funding until a full investigation is completed.

This decision follows South African President Cyril Ramaphosa signing a law that allows land to be taken by the government in certain cases without compensation.

While the South African government insists this is not a forced seizure, critics worry it could lead to a situation similar to Zimbabwe’s land takeovers in the past.
