Unpaid royalty: Laycon Calls Out DJ Neptune, ‘it’s been four years’


Nigerian rapper, Olamilekan Massoud Al-Khalifah Agbeleshebioba, professionally known as Laycon has called out DJ Neptune over alleged delay in paying him his royalties for their collaboration.

The collaborative song in question is “Nobody (Icons remix)”.

The song which also featured Joeboy, was released in October 2020 and the music video was released the following month.

The song was dedicated to fans of the BBNaija winner known as Icons.

The song’s original version was Neptune’s collaborative single with Mr Eazi and Joeboy, featuring Focalistic. It was released in August 2020.

In a post on his X handle, Laycon, a former BBNaija winner, alleged that the DJ is yet to pay him his “agreement and song” for the song.

The rapper expressed displeasure at what he called “silence from Neptune for four years” now.

“Abeg o… @deejayneptune how far my agreement and split for the “Nobody (Icons Remix)” song though. Is it not still ready?haba it’s been 4 years o,” the reality star wrote.

Meanwhile, DJ Neptune has not publicly reacted to the allegation at the time of this report.
