Ace Nigerian musician David Adeleke aka Davido, has called out Veteran South African Disc Jockey, DJ Maphorisa for disliking him for apparently no reason.
Following the release of Wizkid’s latest single which features the South African Amapiano sound, a fan had attributed the sound’s success to Davido who has features with SA artistes and has hopped on the sound himself in the past.
He wrote:
Davido brought Amapiano from South Africa two years ago and made it a successful genre in Africa and Beyond, Wizkid is now hopping on the same genre after davido made it a successful genre. This is how many African artists have been benefiting from Davido’s success for over 12yrs

DJ Maphorisa seemed to take offense at the tweet and stated that it was not Davido rather Wizkid in collaboration with himself, Burna boy and Kabza who brought Amapiano into the Nigerian scene.
He wrote:
Kabza & Maphorisa was the first to put Wizkid n Burnaboy on a amapiano song Sponono dat was a historical moment 3 years ago, research before tweet also it was the first time Wiz n Burna jumped on a same song together

David however quoted the tweet to ask the DJ why he never liked him:
