Why Judge Withdrew From Senator Natasha’s Case

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has withdrawn from a case filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and others.

The case seeks to stop the Senate from investigating her over alleged misconduct.

During the court session on Tuesday, Justice Egwuatu announced that he would no longer handle the case due to allegations of bias made against his court by Akpabio, who is the third defendant in the suit.

The judge stated that the case file would be sent to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, for reassignment to another judge.
