The public relations officer of the Lagos state Police command, Ben Hundeyin has explained why the police stood by during crossdresser Bobrisky’s visit to Ikeja mail.
Bob caused a stir when he arrived at the mall for the Ajakaju movie premiere and was swarmed by fans all trying to get a picture or look at him.
Nigerians online had however begun to call out the Nigerian police force for not immediately arresting the cross-dresser.

“Bobrisky that is supposed to be arrested by the police is been shield by the police force ,,lol Nigeria is not a serious country”
Another user DejiAdesogan:
“5 fully armed policemen guarding Bobrisky in that video, yet some local communities are under-protected from criminals.”

Uhmmmm isn’t this against the law Oh we don’t have a working law in Naija
The police PRO quickly jumped in to explain that none of the policemen were attached to Bob and that they didn’t arrest anyone because they could not do so till a crime was committed.
He wrote:
“The policemen in that video did not come with anybody, neither did they leave with anybody. They are posted there to maintain peace, order and security of the ICM. And that was exactly what they were doing as the situation was turning rowdy.
We would not wait for something untoward to happen and have Nigerians say, ‘But the police were there and did nothing. Why then were they there?’”
