Wike’s Aide Reacts To FCT Minister’s Obituary Photo

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed rumours claiming that the minister collapsed at an event in Abuja.

In recent days, social media platforms like TikTok and X have been flooded with speculation that Wike had collapsed and was even dead, with some users circulating an alleged “obituary photo” of him.

However, Wike made a public appearance on Sunday when he led a delegation of FCT community leaders on a Sallah visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House, proving the rumours false.

Reacting to the controversy on his official X handle, Olayinka accused Nigerian actress Hilda Dokubo of being paid to fabricate the story.

He alleged that she and others staged the fake obituary and engaged in rituals to support their claims, all in an attempt to please Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State.

Olayinka further suggested that Fubara had been deceived by those behind the false narrative, stating that both Hilda Dokubo and another political figure, Ikenga Ugochinyere, had taken advantage of him.
